Short version
MobileLens runs in your browser. There are no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. We do not sell or share data. One optional feature, Explain with AI, sends a small piece of text about one issue to our server when you click it. If you join the waitlist on this site, we store your email address.
What stays on your computer
Audit results, screenshots, history, reports, settings, your agency name and your logo live in the extension's local storage in your browser. We never receive them. You can delete any audit, or all history, from the Dashboard. Removing the extension deletes everything.
Why the extension asks for access to all sites
To show a site inside the phone frame and audit it, MobileLens loads the page and reads its layout: sizes, text size, tap target size and viewport settings. It does this on pages you open in the viewer. It does not read your other tabs, your browsing history or your passwords, and it does not send page content anywhere. The declarativeNetRequest permission removes the X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy headers and sets a mobile User-Agent, only on frames the viewer itself loads, so the site renders in the phone frame. It does not touch any other page or tab.
What Explain with AI sends
Only when you click the button on an issue, MobileLens sends this to api.mobilelens.app: the site's host name (for example example.com, not the full URL), the screen size, the issue title, severity and description, element labels, CSS selectors and the suggested CSS. It does not send screenshots, page text, full URLs, cookies or form contents. Turn the feature off in Settings and the button disappears.
Our server forwards that text to Anthropic's Claude API to write the explanation and returns the answer to you. Anthropic processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not store the text of your requests or the answers on our server. The answer is saved in your local audit history.
What our server keeps
To enforce daily limits, the server keeps simple counters for about two days: a random install ID created by the extension (not linked to you), your network address, and a global total. The counters hold numbers only.
Update check
Once a day the extension fetches mobilelens.app/version.json to see if a new version exists. The request carries no data about you. You can turn it off in Settings.
Waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address to tell you when MobileLens launches and about closely related news. We do not sell it or share it. Email us to have it removed.
What we do not do
No advertising, no tracking pixels, no selling or sharing of data, and no use of your data for anything beyond the feature you clicked.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date above and note the change in the extension's release notes.
